John van Gurp still remembers noticing Heather for the first time in high school in 1979. They were 17. They went on to spend more than four decades together — building a family, travelling the world, and sharing a life full of love and laughter. Halifax, NS — One month after the launch of The Dignity Rack, the Northwood Foundation and Mountain Warehouse are celebrating strong community response to the new partnership — an initiative that makes it easy for shoppers to give back while shopping local. Unveiled on October 18 at Mountain Warehouse’s Halifax and Dartmouth stores, The Dignity Rack invites customers to purchase small, essential items like socks, sweaters, and sunglasses for Northwood residents and clients.

Last Friday, the Northwood community, staff, and volunteers got into the Halloween spirit with festive fun at both our Bedford and Halifax campuses.
