Every year, our Holiday Card Campaign invites people to send handwritten cards filled with messages of hope, comfort, and joy to residents who may be spending the season without family nearby. What began as a simple idea has grown into a beautiful tradition that connects generations, communities, and hearts.

Mountain Warehouse and Northwood Foundation Celebrate Early Success of “The Dignity Rack”
Halifax, NS — One month after the launch of The Dignity Rack, the Northwood Foundation and Mountain Warehouse are celebrating strong community response to the new partnership — an initiative that makes it easy for shoppers to give back while shopping local. Unveiled on October 18 at Mountain Warehouse’s Halifax and Dartmouth stores, The Dignity Rack invites customers to purchase small, essential items like socks, sweaters, and sunglasses for Northwood residents and clients.

For many Northwood seniors, comfort comes from small things — a soft sweater, a pair of warm socks, a little dignity in everyday life. Now, when you shop at Mountain Warehouse Halifax Shopping Centre or Dartmouth Crossing, you can help provide those comforts. Choose an item from The Dignity Rack and add it to your purchase. We’ll make sure it reaches a local senior who needs it most. Because dignity shouldn’t be a luxury.

Music Across Generations at Northwood Bedford
At Northwood in Bedford, a special harmony is found in the laughter, movement, and music shared between seniors and young children. Though they might seem like unlikely classmates, their music sessions which started just last month—led by the owner of Joyful Sounds, Louise MacDonald—are proof that joy knows no age.
