Planting Seeds of Connection at Northwood

ree

A simple idea is making a meaningful difference across our Northwood community. Through gardening, creativity, and shared activities, residents are finding new ways to connect, build confidence, and support their well-being.

Our Roots to Resilience Program, recently featured by SaltWire, brings residents, staff, families, and volunteers together in ways that encourage purpose and joy. From tending raised garden beds to participating in art-based activities, residents are discovering moments of calm, creativity, and friendship.

These small, everyday interactions are helping reduce loneliness and strengthen relationships — reminding us that connection can grow anywhere. Whether planting seedlings or painting alongside a neighbour, residents are engaging in experiences that support mental wellness and bring our community closer together.
