Troy Crawford, 1st Cook - Cooking With Purpose

When Troy Crawford joined Northwood just over a year ago, he was looking for more than a job. He wanted to be part of a team where his skills could make a difference.
As a 1st Cook, Troy works alongside a dedicated team preparing meals for residents. The kitchen operates on long shifts and requires strong teamwork to ensure every resident receives nutritious, high-quality meals.
One thing many people don't realize, Troy says, is the amount of preparation that happens behind the scenes.
"We work a day ahead to prepare food for the long-term care residents who live at Northwood."
That planning and collaboration help ensure meals are ready when residents need them. What has kept Troy at Northwood is the people. He values working alongside colleagues from different backgrounds who share a common goal of supporting residents and one another with compassion and respect.
"It's a great place to work," he says. "We are all treated with respect and you are making a difference in others' lives."
For Troy, being part of a team that helps improve residents' daily lives makes the work meaningful.
“I live more because I am blessed to have a job at Northwood.ˮ
