Halifax Smoking Facilities UPDATE

Dear tenants and staff,

After a considerable review of use and potential risks, we want to inform the community that tomorrow Northwood will be removing the outside smoking structure in Halifax and not replace it. 

As always, Northwood’s priority is always the safety and security of everyone in our community.   The existing structure poses a slipping and fire hazzard, and it has been pointed out that it also creates a semi concealed space that raises some personal security concerns. 

While this may be seen as an inconvenience, we would like to point out that there is an HRM designated smoking spot at the corner of the parking lot on the sidewalk, which will become the new designated spot for staff and tenants. We thank you for your understanding.
