Have Your Say: Join Northwood's New Community Advisory Committee
Do you care about the future of home and community care in Halifax Regional
Municipality? Northwood wants to hear from you.
We are inviting community members and partners to apply for our new
Community Advisory Committee (CAC). This committee gives people like you a
real voice in shaping the services, policies, and programs that support home and
community care clients across HRM.
What is the Community Advisory Committee?
The CAC is a group of community voices working alongside Northwood to help
guide our Home and Community Care programming. Members will share their
perspectives, ask questions, and help us plan for the future.
Committee members will:
Offer advice on service delivery practices that affect clients and caregivers
Help identify new needs, service gaps, and trends in health and social services
Contribute ideas that support program growth, planning, and policy
development
Help build open, respectful communication between Northwood and the
community
Support awareness of Northwood services in the community
Who should apply?
We are looking for people who:
Live, work, or have strong ties within Halifax Regional Municipality
Care about improving community-based health and social services
Bring lived experience, professional expertise, or leadership in the community
Are ready to take part in open discussion and offer constructive feedback
You do not need a background in health care to apply. What matters most is your perspective and your willingness to contribute.
What does joining involve?
Membership is a two-year term, with quarterly meetings held during regular business hours. If getting to a meeting in person is not easy for you, virtual participation is available.
