Freeman’s Little New York Warms Hearts and Raises Money
February this year has been especially cold, but with Valentine’s Day around the corner there is the wonderful opportunity to celebrate love and warm up a little. A little comfort food all helps, especially when shared with loved ones.
This month Northwood teamed up with Freeman’s Little New York restaurants to deliver all three, in the form of heart-shaped pizzas. From February 9th until the 16th, for every heart-shaped pizza order, $2 will be donated to support programs at Northwood.
“Freeman’s are very community focused” says Faye Leblanc, director of the Northwood Foundation. “We’ve been collaborating for over ten years. It all started when I got chatting with their operations manager over breakfast a long time ago.”
Freeman’s has been a Halifax institution since 1956, offering cozy, pub-like atmosphere and their legendary New York style pizzas. “From the street we’re a pizza shop. Behind the walls, we’re so much more than that. I couldn’t be more proud to work for such a wonderful, philanthropic minded organization” says Joël Chiasson is the Operations Manager at Freeman’s.
