PetSmart Makes Holidays Bright with Stuffy Drive

Christmas gets softer and cozier with plush toy donation.

The holiday season is wonderful , but often those of us lucky enough to enjoy lots of family and friends around us can forget that there are people who have no one. When no one comes around, then there are no gifts, no cards, and the Christmas season can bring feelings of lonliness to persons living alone. For many Northwood residents or those in continuing care, it can be acute.

To combat this situation, a few members of the Northwood Foundation and Communications team hopped aboard the LIVE MORE bus to collect stuffed animals donated by our friends at PetSmart for our residents and community. As the collections grew, the bus got genuinely stuffed with hundreds of cuddly pigs, cows, dogs and other creatures.

"We filled the seats to the roof with stuffies" explained Faye LeBlanc, Director of the Northwood Foundation. "People driving by giggled and smiled as they passed, seeing the windows packed with plush toys."

Thanks to PerSmart, those living at Northwood will receive a cuddly, stuffed animal to bring them comfort and joy. This generosity reminds us of the power of kindness and community.
