October marks Continuing Care Month, an opportunity to recognize the vital contributions of those who provide care, comfort, and support each day. At Northwood, Continuing Care Workers play an essential role in ensuring the well-being of our residents and clients.

Throughout this month, we will highlight members of our team through a series of spotlights, sharing their experiences, interests, and reflections on what they value most about their work. These stories provide a window into the dedication and professionalism that define continuing care at Northwood.

Paul Healy

How long have you worked at Northwood? 7 years.

What is your current position? Program Worker / CCA.

What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work? Music, art, writing, hiking.

What do you enjoy most about coming to work each day? Having fun interacting with our clients.

Nicole Parrott

How long have you worked at Northwood? I've been with Northwood for about 1 1/2 years.

What is your current position? Adult day worker.

What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work? Going for drive around different parts of Nova Scotia, biking, thrift and antique shopping. Refinishing furniture.

What do you enjoy most about coming to work each day? I enjoy being with the seniors, doing activities, their stories and crafts.

Connie Lennon

How long have you worked at Northwood? My name is Connie Lennon and have worked with Adult Day for 20 years.

What is your current position? Program

Worker.

What hobbies or interests do you have outside of work?

I am a mother to two beautiful children and have a supportive partner. Who I love. In my spare time I enjoy being outside with my family, garden, paint, sing and cook.

What do you enjoy most about coming to work each day?

I have learned so much and have enjoyed being part of the community and helping

others to have a fulfilled day and respite for caregivers for much needed self care and rest. I work with an amazing team and going to work makes me smile. It’s like family. Thankful for that.
