Tickets Are Now on Sale for the 2026 Live More Awards Gala

Join us October 22 as we celebrate extraordinary people, community leadership and a shared commitment to helping Nova Scotians live more.

The Live More Awards Gala presented by rcs Construction returns to the Halifax Convention Centre on Thursday, October 22, 2026, bringing together community leaders, partners, supporters and friends of Northwood for one of our most meaningful evenings of the year.

For more than 25 years, the Gala has celebrated people whose leadership, generosity and commitment have helped strengthen Northwood and our community. It is also an important fundraiser for Northwood Foundation, helping fund programs, innovation, research and quality-of-life initiatives that go beyond what public funding alone can provide.

Celebrating our 2026 honourees

This year, Northwood is proud to recognize four remarkable members of our community with a Live More Award:

Louis LawenTracey McGillivrayThe Honourable Lena Metlege DiabJim Todd & Brian Lugar

Each has made a meaningful contribution through leadership, generosity and a commitment to building stronger communities.

The evening will also recognize six Pillar Distinction Award recipients, whose contributions reflect the values that guide Northwood:

Advocacy: John Van GurpInnovation: Debra OrtonResearch: Dr. Raza AbidiCommunity: Chris HardingDiversity: Houston BarnabyLoving Care: Lisa Anthony

Helping people move, recover and live more

The Gala is also an opportunity to turn generosity into meaningful impact.

During this year's Fund-a-Need, guests will be invited to help Northwood purchase new physiotherapy equipment for residents and clients.

Physiotherapy can play an important role in helping people maintain mobility, rebuild strength, recover and remain as independent as possible. Funds raised during Fund-a-Need will help ensure our teams have the equipment they need to provide that support.

It is one example of how support for Northwood Foundation helps us respond to needs that public funding alone cannot meet.

An evening with purpose

Guests can look forward to an evening of celebration, connection and stories of impact, along with silent and live auctions, including a high-energy live auction led by Layne The Auctionista. Throughout the evening, guests will have opportunities to come together, give generously and support the people Northwood serves.

We are also proud to welcome rcs Construction as the Presenting Sponsor of the 2026 Live More Awards Gala, joining Northwood in celebrating community and helping strengthen continuing care in Nova Scotia.
