Every community is shaped by people who believe in making a difference. At Northwood, that difference is made possible through compassion, generosity, and the commitment of individuals who go above and beyond to support others.

For more than 25 years, the Live More Awards has provided an opportunity to recognize the extraordinary people who help the Northwood Foundation make a lasting impact across Nova Scotia. These awards are more than a celebration of achievement. They are a reminder that meaningful change happens when a community comes together to support one another.

On October 22nd, 2026, at the Halifax Convention Centre, Northwood welcomes guests for an evening dedicated to celebrating the people who help our communities thrive.

Honouring Those Who Make a Difference

This year’s Live More Awards will recognize Louis Lawen, Brian Lugar & Jim Todd, Tracey McGillivray, and The Honourable Lena Metlege Diab for their leadership, generosity, and contributions to Northwood and the wider community.

Each honouree represents the importance of giving back and the impact that dedicated individuals can have on the lives of others. Their recognition reflects the spirit of the Live More Awards: celebrating the people whose efforts help create stronger, more connected communities.

Through their contributions, they remind us that making a difference is not always about one moment or one action. It is about the lasting impact of showing up, supporting others, and investing in the well-being of our community.

An Evening of Celebration, Connection, and Giving

The Live More Awards Gala brings people together for a night of celebration, connection, and meaningful support for the Northwood Foundation.

Guests can look forward to an evening filled with inspiring stories, opportunities to connect, and both silent and live auctions.

While the gala celebrates the contributions of others, it also invites every guest to become a part of something bigger. Together, attendees help support initiatives that can make a meaningful difference in the lives of Northwood’s community.

Helping People Live More

This year’s Fund-a-Need Auction will support the purchase of new physiotherapy equipment for Northwood.

For residents, access to the right equipment can support strength, mobility, and greater independence. It can help make everyday movements more manageable, support personal goals, and contribute to a better quality of life.

Behind every fundraising effort is a person who may benefit from that support. Someone working toward greater independence. Someone building strength. Someone striving to continue doing the things that matter most to them.

By contributing to the Fund-a-Need, guests have an opportunity to help make these possibilities more accessible.

Because helping people Live More means supporting not just their care, but their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

Be Part of the Celebration

The Live More Awards is an opportunity to celebrate extraordinary people, recognize the power of community, and support the work that makes a difference across Nova Scotia.

Whether through attending, participating in the auctions, or contributing to the Fund-a-Need, every act of support helps the Northwood Foundation continue its work.

Join us as we honour those who give so much, celebrate the community that makes a difference, and look toward a future where more Nova Scotians have the opportunity to Live More.
